About us

A lot of the text on this site speaks of we, I think this is the righ place to explain you who that is.
We are Nadia and Martijn, Nadia was born in Moscow and moved to Amsterdam in 2005, Martijn was born in Holland and moved to Amsterdam in 1994.
One of our favorite ways to pass our free time is to travel to different cities and countries, and luckily, both our jobs accommodate this desire.
When preparing for our travels we always wonder around on the web trying to find the most useful and personal information about the city or country we are visiting. The information that is most useful and interesting for us, usuall is the information that locals know and share, not the information you can readily find in a guide book. This led us to start this site.

We aim to provide you with fun, interesting and especially personal information on Amsterdam.
There are a lot of sites and books out there that focus on the typical things to do when in Amsterdam, for example go through the Red Light District and get stoned. These tips are nice, but nor valuable, we think (most visitors will do that regardless of guidebooks or websites).
We are not native Amsterdam-inhabitants and still see the city as a playground even though I have lived here for over 15 years and Nadia has lived here for 3 years.
Currently we are working hard to add more and more insightful ideas on what to do and where to go when in Amsterdam, so please bookmark us and come back soon and often to check what we changed!

Multilingual

We also aim to get the site completely in English, Russian and Spanish as soon as possible. We may even add more languages over the course of time, depending on how well the site is visited of course.

We hope to see you back here soon! Please if you do speak Dutch, also visit our other website: moskou-tips.nl
